However, I had a thought a while ago when I was contemplating this issue. Why couldn’t you use the helix method (usually used to do single row striping in the round without jogs)?

Someone mentioned it the other day and I've been combing the internet for info. It's such a brilliant idea. I hate that spine but I accept it and do my best to make it less obvious.
